The brain craves certainty. Human nature prompts us to seek patterns and consistency, which feed psychological safety and, ultimately, our sense of control. According to Jonah Oliver, one of Australia’s leading sport performance psychologists, uncertainty is the hardest human emotion—tougher to navigate than pain, anger, grief, and even loss. “There’s a reason that seven-year-old kid… Read More >>>

“Put your boats in the water.” I hear this and immediately lock in. A switch flips. At the onset of the 2025 Americas Rowing Beach Sprint Championships in Garabito, Costa Rica, surf conditions led the World Rowing Jury to require three boat handlers per boat for the duration of the event. “Focused on process, our creative life retains a sense of adventure. Focused on the product, the same creative life can feel foolish or barren. We inherit the obsession with product and the idea that art produces finished product from our consumer-oriented society.” (p. 139)

Whether you're creating, competing, leading, or learning, it's easy to become consumed by outcomes. Returning to the process brings us back to what we can actually influence — and to the work itself. Isn’t that what we all love?

Sit with that for a moment, then let the questions be your guide.

The qualities you develop as an athlete don't end The qualities you develop as an athlete don't end when competition does.

Join us Wednesday, August 12 at 7pm ET for Headspace with Champions.

This month, we're exploring The Forever Athlete—how the habits, mindset, and character you build through sport continue to shape your confidence, leadership, relationships, and success long after competition ends.

We're also excited to welcome our first featured guest, Cherisse Taylor—business owner, coach, competitive Olympic weightlifter, and Masters World Record holder in the snatch. Together, we'll explore what it means to carry the lessons of sport into every stage of life.

New here? This isn't a lecture or webinar. It's a live, athlete-centered conversation.

We value community, encourage engagement, and aim for everyone to leave with a new insight, perspective, or practical takeaway.

Athletes, coaches, parents, and anyone striving to show up at their best are welcome. While this conversation is rooted in sport, the lessons extend far beyond competition.
